Merry X mas home decor

Soms heb je een idee waar je echt zin in hebt. Ik wilde graag een leuke decoratie aan de muur voor kerst. Ik hou van werken met canvas, dus de keuze was snel gemaakt. Verder wilde ik graag lampjes in de canvassen verwerken. Hier volgt de beschrijving van het project.

Ik had nog 4 canvassen in huis en kocht papier van Making memories van de lijn mistletoe (4 verschillende vellen). Van twee vellen maakte ik een scallop vel met mini monograms. Vervolgens maakte ik 4 letters van rood papier (X MAS). Die plakte ik op de stukken dessinpapier. Vervolgens maakte ik gaatjes in het papier en de letters. De canvassen schilderde ik zwart. Leg dan het papier op de canvas en druk zachtjes, zodat je de canvas om kunt draaien om een gaatje door het canvas te kunnen maken. Doe dit 10 keer. Plak nu het papier met de letter op het canvas. Zet er grote eyelets in door het papier en de canvas. Vervolgens lijm je de lampjes met een lijmpistool in het canvas vast (eerst even testen). Zie hiervoor de foto. Nu ben je klaar om de canvassen te versieren. Ik gebruikte prima flowers, de pointsetta stans van Boss cut en het takje van martha stewart. De silhouetten komen uit de Christmas cartridge van de cricut. De kerstman uit A childs year.

Het bovenste canvas maakte ik op maat. Ik kocht latten bij de bouwmarkt en zaagde die op maat. Bekleed het vervolgens met canvas en gebruik er een tacker bij. Ik kocht ooit A3 canvasvellen bij de kwantum. Decoreer ook deze canvas en maak er onderaan open haakjes in. In de andere canvassen maakte ik dichte haakjes. Lint ertussen en ophangen maar. Ik laat het overigens maar gewoon hangen. Heb ik al een beetje kerst.

Sometimes you get inspired. I made this home decor project using 4 canvasses. I painted them black. I used Making memories Misletoe paper (4 different sheets). I cut the scallop using mini monograms. I made a big X, M, A and S. Paste it to the paper. Then punch holes in them (10). Put it on top of your canvas (don't glue it yet. Squeeze gently with your eyeletsetter. Turn the canvas over and make a hole through the canvas. Repeat this and then glue the paper on the canvas. Put eyelets in the holes. Then paste the lights with a glue pistol (see picture). Decorate the canvas. I used shapes from the Christmas cartridge and a santa from a childs year. I used prima flowers, the pointsetta die from boss cut and the branch punch from Martha Stewart. The top canvas I made myself using a thin shelf (I know it's the wrong word). I used canvas sheets I'm sure you can buy at a painting shop and a tacker. Then painted it black and decorated it. Use hooks and ribbon to attach the canvasses together. I will not take the paintings of the wall and leave them there througout the christmas. So I'm already having a merry christmas.

Slaapkamer/ Bedroom

Ik heb mijn slaapkamer een facelift gegeven. Behang eraf en verfje erop. Daarna wat nieuwe dingen erin. Ik gebruikte de cricut om de boel wat op te leuken. Van wit vinyl sneed ik de figuren boven mijn bed en op de spiegel maakte ik een gedicht. Op de kleine spiegel nog een leuk vlindertje in de hoek en de kamer was af. De glasplaten zijn van Ikea. Ze worden gebruikt in de kasten. Er zitten al 4 gaten in. Je kunt ze gebruiken als geboortetegel, naambord bij de deur (gehard glas) en decoratie in huis. Super leuk om te werken op glas. Voor de bevestiging gebruikte ik trespa schroeven, ringetjes en buisjes (die ik van mijn vader kreeg). Kun je geen buisjes vinden, dan kun je ook slang van het aquarium nemen en die in de goede hoogte snijden. Wel even kijken of je schroef erdoor kan.

I gave my bedroom a facelift. Took off the wallpaper and painted it. Bought some new stuff. I used the cricut to brighten up the room. I used white vinyl and cut the figures above my bed. On the mirror I used a poem. The small mirror needed just a little touch. The glasdecoration above the bed are shells I bought at ikea's. They come with the wholes. You can use them as painting or name plates outside. I used trespa screws to attach them to the walls. You will need some little metal rings and 4 small pieces to keep them from the wall. You can use hose, that is used in fishbowls. Just be sure your screw will fit.

Geboorteschilderij, birth decoration

Dit schilderij is altijd een groot succes bij de prille moeder. De lijst koop ik voor € 5,99 bij de Ikea. Het eerste dat je doet is het scannen van het geboortekaartje. Daarna druk je het kaartje kleiner af. Ik druk altijd de voorkant apart van de achterkant en plak ze dan aan elkaar. Vervolgens print je de verpakking van de muisjes in het klein en je maakt het pakje. Ooit heb ik gewoon de originele verpakking van de blauwe en roze muisjes gesloopt en gescand. Ik stel ze hierbij ter beschikking. Klik hier, dan kun je ze downloaden. In het frame, dat binnenin de lijst zit maakte ik met een boor 2 gaatjes, waardoor je een waslijn kunt spannen. Het jurkje komt uit de cartridge New Arrival. Het haakje kocht ik ooit in Belgie bij een winkel waar ze spullen verkopen om geboorte geschenkjes te kunnen maken. Natuurlijk kun je ook zelf van een ijzerdraadje een kledinghaakje buigen. Vervolgens heb ik de letters uit plakfolie gesneden. Deze keer niet de naam, want die staat toch al op het kaartje. In het midden van het schilderij plak je het originele geboortekaartje (of een foto van de baby). Zo blijft er in ieder geval 1 kaartje veilig bewaard. Plak vervolgens het kleine geboortekaartje op de passe partout en het doosje in de lijst. Ik voegde nog wat kleine muisjes toe (speelgoedwinkel met houten speelgoed).

This decoration is the perfect gift for a new mom. I use a painting from Ikea. The costs are € 5,99. First I scan the birth announcement and I print it smaller then the original. I print the front separate from the inside and then I paste them together making a mini announcement. Then I made the little box. In Holland if there is a baby born, we eet 'beschuit with muisjes'. We have them in blue and pink. I tore up the pakkaging and scaned it to make a mini version. You can download them here if you'd like, although it's just a dutch tradition. You can also add flowers, little wouden elements. I think you will be able to think of something. In the middle of the painting I put the original announcement, so one will be saved forever. Of course you can also add a picture of the baby. I made holes in the frame inside the painting to secure a line. The dress I cut using the New arrival cartridge. Just hang it on the line. Now use your cricut to cut some details about the birth using vinyl. Put the whole thing together and you have a nice gift.

Kaart en vaas, Card and Vase

Deze kaart en vaas maakte ik voor een vriendin, die een nieuw huis heeft. Ik gebruikte vinyl. Vinyl snij je op de cricut door het mes op 3 te zetten en de druk op medium of bij de gewone cricut op 3. Het mes snijdt wel door de bovenlaag, maar niet door de onderlaag. Haal nu alles weg, dat je niet hoeft te hebben. Gebruik breed schilderstape en plak dit over de afbeelding heen. Nu kun je de afbeelding van de achterkant liften en daar plakken, waar je hem hebben wilt. Wil je de afbeelding op papier plakken, dan kun je het beste tape gebruiken voor kwetsbare ondergronden. Je trekt dan je papier niet stuk. De bloemetjes kun je kopen bij Ikea.

I made this card and vase for a friend with a new home. I used vinyl. You can cut vinyl if you use these settings; knife 3 and pressure medium of 3 on the old cricut. The knife will cut through the top, but not through the backing. Now you remove everything you don't need. Use painters tape and put this on top of your image. Now you can lift it and paste it everywhere you want. If you want to use your image on paper, use painters tape for wallpaper, because it doesn't stick that much. The flowers you can buy at Ikea's.

Dino uitnodiging/ Dino invitation

Vandaag heb ik de uitnodiging voor het feestje van mijn jongste zoon, Stijn, gemaakt. Hij is helemaal gek van dino's, dus wordt het een dino feest. Ik wil het idee graag met jullie delen. De bestanden voor het maken van de kaart kun je hier downloaden.
Maak met de cricut 2 dino botten per kaart en 1 dino voetafdruk. Distress zowel de botten als de voetafdruk. Ril de bovenkant van 1 bot in en plak het met dubbelzijdig tape (tacky tape) bovenop het andere bot. Het bot kan nu staan. Maak met de computer de voorkant van de kaart. De gebruikte plaatjes staan ook in de file met de bestanden. Maak ook een achterkant. Mat beide op rood cardstock (beide even groot). Plak achter de voorkant in de hoek de pootafdruk. Plak de voorkant op het dino bot en doe dit ook met de achterkant. Klaar is de uitnodiging!

Today I made the invitation for my youngest sons birthday party. He just loves dinosaurs, so it's gonna be a dino party. I'd like to share the idea and the files with you. You can download the files here.
Cut 2 bones for every card and 1 footprint. Distress them. Score the top of one bone. Attach it to the other bone using double adhesive tape (tacky tape). Print the front of your invitation. I've included the images I used in the file. Print the back of the invitation. Adhere them to some red cardstock (make sure the front and back are the same size). Paste a footprint to the back of the front of the invitation and then adhere the front and the back to the bone card. So now you're ready to party!

Cupcake gemaakt met SCAL en cricut/ Cupcake made with SCAL and Cricut

Mijn vriendin Monique was afgelopen week jarig. Ik had stempels besteld in Engeland, maar die lieten op zich wachten. Ik heb een cupcake als reserve cadeau gemaakt. De inspiratie had ik van een blikje met snoepjes. Het blikje is van http://www.accoutrements.com/. Ik stel jullie met liefde de bestanden ter beschikking, zodat jullie hem zelf kunnen maken.

Beschrijving:

Snij de achtergrond 2x uit 1 soort dessinpapier (spiegel de tweede), snij hem nog 2x uit een ander dessinpapier(spiegel de tweede). Snij met de hand 2 achtergronden uit grijsboard. Snij uit 2 kleuren de cupcake (bodem en top zijn 1 bestand). Plak op 1 grijsboard cupcake dessinpapier en daar bovenop komt de cupcake uit 2 stukken. Doe dit ook met de achterkant. Op de voorkant heb ik de gaten met glossy accent ingesmeerd en toen glitter erop gegooid. Een paar bloemen erop en een tekst stempel op een cirkel gebruiken. Lint erbij en de voorkant is klaar.

Snij voor de rug/scharnier 2 stroken dessinpapier even hoog als het bakje van de cupcake en 5cm breed. Snij ook een stukje grijsboard van 2 cm en even hoog als het bakje van de cupcake. Plak dit stukje grijsboard op het dessinpapier en vouw de plakranden om, zodat je aan elke kant 1,5 cm hebt. Andere stukje dessinpapier erbovenop voor de afwerking. Plak het scharnier met dubbelzijdig tape op de grijsboard cupcakes en plak nu dessinpapier over de binnenkant van de cupcakes heen. De cupcakes zijn nu 1 geheel. Je kunt er nu een gedichtje inplakken (zit ook in het bestand). Klein cadeautje (decoratie cupcakes) toevoegen en natuurlijk is de ontvanger heel gelukkig. Tip: Doe er een recept voor cupcakes in. Sluit de kaart met een lintje.

Description

I made this card for my friends birthday. You can make it too using SCAL. Cut the background files 2 times using dessinpaper (second time mirror image). Use another type of dessinpaper and cut it twice more (second time mirror image). Use two colors cardstock and cut it once in each color. Cut two background by hand using chipboard. Paste the dessinpaper to the front of one chipboard cupcake and to the back of the other. Now adhere the two pieces of the cupcake to the front and the back. I used glossy accents in the holes on top of the cupcake and pourred glitter on it. Add a few flowers, some ribbon and lace to the bottom of the cupcake. I used a stamp for some text. For the hinge I cut 2 strips of dessinpaper as high as the cupcake bottom and 2 inch wide. Score this two times (dividing it evenly). Paste a piece of chipboard in the middle. This is the spine of the card. Adhere it to the inside of the chipboard cupcake front and the inside of the chipboard cupcake back. Glue the dessinpaper backgrounds to the inside of the card. Embellish it with some flowers and a poem or a recipe for cupcakes. Add a little present. This Candy tin is sold by http://www.accoutrements.com/. Use a ribbon and some eyelets for closure.

Hart album/ heart album

Vandaag heb ik een album met daaromheen een doos afgemaakt. Ik heb SCAL gebruikt om de harten voor het album te snijden. Ik heb eerst 1 hart uit zwart papier geknipt en deze op de scanner gelegd. Vervolgens heb ik er een snijfile van gemaakt en het album en alle benodigde harten uitgesneden. Zo kun je een album in de juiste vorm van het blik maken.

Today I finished an album with box. I used SCAL to cut the heartshapes. The first heart I cut by hand using black cardstock. I put it on my scanner and made a scan. Than I turned it into a cutfile using inkscape. Now you can make the album the correct shape.

Vlinderkaart

Deze keer een kaart met transparante sheets. Ik heb de vlinder eerst met scal uit plakfolie gesneden en daarna overgezet met transfertape op transparante sheet. Knip hem uit en met een roze posca pen langs de randen en stipjes in de hartjes van de bloem zetten. Kaart eronder en een leuke tekst erbij en klaar.....

Tip: Snij dit uit een vel cardstock en gebruik het negatief als basis voor een layout of kaart.

This time a card with a transparent butterfly. First I cut the butterfly using vinyl. Then I cut it out and used a posca pencil to trace it. Use your left overs to make a cute card. Use a stamp as a sentiment. A few flowers and... ready.

Tip: You can cut this butterfly from cardstock and use the negative to create a lay-out or a card.

Transparante hangers/ transparent wallart

Goede morgen allemaal,

Ik moet eigenlijk de was doen, maar ik wil toch wel graag regelmatig iets op deze site plaatsen, dus dat gaat nu even voor. Vandaag geen files (gebruik gewoon basisvormen), maar wel een idee. Ik maak graag transparante dingen. Dit voorbeeld is snel te maken en leuk als kaart. Je kunt ze namelijk opsturen.

De transparante sheets haal ik bij een kantoorboekhandel. Je koopt ze daar per 100 stuks. Let erop, dat je de transparante sheets van 100 micron koopt of de dikste die er zijn. Snijden met de cricut gaat door het met op 6 te zetten en de druk op max of 5. Snij nu de vorm uit, maar druk niet op unload, maar op load paper en snij nogmaals. Herhaal dit nog een keer. De vormen kun je nu zo uit het transparant halen. De multi-cut functie gebruik ik niet, omdat deze niet goed werkt. De machine snijdt niet over dezelfde lijn.Gebruik vervolgens verf, stempels, watervaste stiften en dessinpapier om er iets leuks van te maken.

Tip: Zet je machine minder diep en je kunt tekst in het transparant etsen. Dat kan ook leuk zijn. Heb je een cuttlebug, doe het transparant dan eens in een embossingmal.

I'd like to post a new idea. I like to use transparent sheets. You can easily make a wallhanger by using transparent sheets. I buy mine at an office store. I buy the ones with 100 micron or the thickest I can find. I haven't included files, because you can use any basic shape for this project.

If you want to cut these sheets turn your knife on 6 and your pressure max or 5. Cut the shapes, but don't press unload. Press the load key and cut again. Repeat this another time and your shapes will come out easily. I never use the multi-cut feature, because it doesn't work that well. Now you can paint, stamp or use waterproof pens and decorate your wallhanger.

Tip: If you turn the settings on the machine lower, you can etch the transparensies.If you have a cuttlebug, use an embossingfolder on your transparencies.

Orientaals paleis

Dit orientaalse paleis maakte ik in het klein voor iemand, maar die wilde het graag in het groot. Hierbij een foto van beide paleisjes, zodat je kunt zien hoe groot de grootste is. Ik heb alles uit 3o x 30 cm gesneden. 4 delen uit roze, 4 delen uit donkerblauw. Het dessinpapier is van het kruidvat. Ik heb het karton voor ertussen met de hand gesneden. Daarna beplakt met het effen, het dessin en het glitterpapier. Hierna heb ik er boeklon overheen geplakt en daarna doorgestikt. De scharnieren heb ik van breed lint gemaakt. Dit heb ik vastgeplakt met tacky tape (zeer plakkerig dubbelzijdig tape). Nu kan een kind het gebruiken als poppenhuis. Klik op de foto om de files van het grote en kleine paleis te krijgen.

I made a small version of the oriental palace for somebody, but when she saw it, she wanted a big one. I made a big version and used 12 x 12 inch paper. 4 parts I cut with pink cardstock and 4 with dark blue. Then I hand cut the chipboard and pasted the cardstock to it. Then I decorated it with dessinpaper and glitter paper. I put plastic on it, to protect it from dirty childrens hands. Then I machine stiched it. I made the hinges out of ribbon. I used tacky tape to attach it. Now a child can use it as a dollhouse. If you like this palace just click on the photo to get a small and a big version of the palace.

Palmboom eiland met cake

Best karweitje, maar dan toch op tijd klaar. Zoals gezegd, wordt mijn zoon morgen 9 jaar en hij wilde cakejes met palmbomen erop. Ben ik fff. blij met de cricut. De bladeren heb ik gecricut. Cake gebakken, giraffe nekken koekjes doormidden. Met glazuur kopjes erop geplakt. 3 Blaadjes met plakband om het stukje koek geplakt. Cake gebakken. Palmbomen erin. In het midden een piratenboot gemaakt met 2 zeilen (ding van de action, dat niet in elkaar bleek te zetten, maar zeiltjes komen maar weer van pas). De boot is van 2 kant-en-klare cakes gemaakt en is voor de juffen en meesters. Zo klaar maar weer. Klik op de foto als je je ook uit wilt leven op cakejes.

Filmpje over het maken van glitterkaarten met de cricut

This movie I made a while ago about making a glittering card with your cricut. I know in a lot of countries you can't get the double sided stuff I use. It is called Aslan and it's a dutch product. I think you will have something like this, which was used to make sandy art.

Happy birthday kroon kaart/ Happy birthday crown card

Hier nog een creatie gemaakt met SCAL en de cricut. Ik heb dit ontwerp gemaakt in een fotobewerkingsprogramma, namelijk MS digital image. Je kunt natuurlijk ook andere programma's gebruiken. Gebruik gewoon een aantal vormen, die al in het programma zitten en combineer het met vormen, die je al hebt. Ik heb de kaart voor mijn zoon Kelvin gemaakt, die morgen 9 jaar wordt. Another creation using SCAL and the cricut. I've designed this using my photo editing program MS digital image. Of course you can use any kind of photo editing program. Just play around whit shapes that are in the program and shapes you've got on your computer. I made this card for my son Kelvin, who turns 9 tomorrow. Click on the example to download the files.

Baby pakje meisje en jongen/ bayb clothes girl & boy

Nog twee leuke kaarten om eens uit te proberen met Sure Cuts a lot. Klik weer op het voorbeeld en je kunt een file downloaden. Compleet met voorbeeld. Ik heb deze file 2x gesneden. 1x met cardstock en 1x met dessinpapier (tweezijdig bedrukt). Verder heb je weinig tijd en weinig materiaal nodig om er iets leuks van te maken. Oh ja, voor de overige apparaten heb ik ook een DXF file toegevoegd.

Two more nice cards to try using Sure Cuts a lot. Again click on the example, to get the files including the example. I've cut the file twice using cardstock and dessinpaper (double sided). You don't need a lot of time and material to make this a nice card. I also have added a DXF file for machines like craft robo.
